Getting Around the City: Public Transportation
- Muni Metro: The closest station, only a 2 minute walk from the Symposium, is the Embarcadero Station. Lines and time schedules can be found at the SF Muni page here.
- Cable Cars: The California Street Terminus station for cable cars is right outside the Hyatt Embarcadero entrance. Best for a classic San Francisco experience and downtown sightseeing, the historic California Street cable line runs uphill through the Financial District, with easy access to San Francisco’s Chinatown. BART: The BART Embarcadero Station is a roughly 2 minute walk from the Hyatt Embarcadero, and can take you all across the greater Bay Area. A 30 minute ride on the Yellow Line or Red Line will take you straight to San Francisco International Airport. More information on BART routes and timings can be found here.

Golden Gate Bridge (~ 35-50 minutes by transit, 6 mi from Hyatt Embarcadero)
San Francisco’s most recognizable landmark, the Golden Gate Bridge offers spectacular views. Walk part of the 1.7-mile span or explore the surrounding Presidio for some of the city’s best viewpoints. Visit the nearby Baker Beach or famous elevated view in Marin Headlands from Battery Spencer.
Ferry Building (~8 minute walk, 0.6 mi from Hyatt Embarcadero)
One of the easiest places to explore during a break from the conference, the historic Ferry Building combines beautiful architecture, a lively food marketplace and sweeping views across San Francisco Bay. The popular Ferry Plaza Farmer’s Market is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Fisherman’s Wharf (~15 minutes by transit or ~30 minutes by waterfront walk, 1.5 mi from Hyatt Embarcadero)
One of San Francisco’s best-known waterfront districts, Fisherman’s Wharf combines historic piers, seafood, maritime history, shops, and some of the city’s most famous residents—the California sea lions at Pier 39 (stop by to see the famous Chonkers, the Sea Lion!). We recommend taking the historic F Market & Wharves streetcar for a uniquely San Francisco experience!

Golden Gate Park and Museums (~45 minutes by transit)
Golden Gate Park is an enormous urban park filled with greenery, like the Japanese Tea Garden or Conservatory of Flowers, as well as world-renowned museums like the California Academy of Sciences (natural sciences) and the de Young Museum (arts, history).
Mission District & Dolores Park (~ 20 minutes by transit)
Discover colorful murals, local San Francisco artisanal shops, and diverse eateries. Some recommendations include Tartine Bakery for delicious pastries.
Lands End ( ~1 hour by transit)
Walk along the beautifully scenic California cliffs above the Pacific Ocean at Lands End. Here, visitors can experience the coastline without leaving San Francisco! More information on hiking trails and best viewpoints can be found here.

SPORTS: San Francisco Giants Play Los Angeles Dodgers on September 26th, 2026! Oracle Park is about a 25-minute waterfront walk from the Hyatt Embarcadero.
ARTS: San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SF MOMA), one of the United States’ leading museums of modern and contemporary art features an expansive collection spanning painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, and media designs.
